Sharara Shenanigans
Using western clothing accessories to create an Indo-Fusion Sharara look
Ethnic outfits have had such contemporary styling associated with it now a day’s that its chicness would convince you to get creative and start styling too. None of these clothing pieces are new to us. We have been seeing them and probably wearing them for forever now, but what makes it interesting is that little twist that elevates its overall appearance.

Yashika Malhotra, a fashion blogger from Mumbai, aged 25, has been having a lot of fun styling rather ordinary outfits and converting them into stylish outcomes. Participating in the styling challenge, she took inspiration from the movie Kalank whose costume details can be found in the article Kalank : Fashioning Flamboyance and the shararas worn by Alia Bhatt in the film.

Alia Bhatt wore a lot of Shararas in Kalank, the above picture is one of those outfits in the film

She shared, “It is not necessary that you can wear those sharara pants only with a Kurta. Yes that is what we have been seeing and know of. We feel that it is a part of an ethnic look and that is how we are supposed to wear it."
She also shared how Alia's ensembles made her want to explore more and create a different attire with her sharara suits, "Seeing Alia wear those beautiful shararas with mostly the flared pant silhouette, I thought of styling my shararas suit which has a flared bottom in a way that it looks like a fushion or an Indo-western outfit.”
She paired her flared sharara pants with a brown sleeveless turtleneck top and accessorized with a choker

Deconstructing her look, she said she paired her hot pink flared sharara pants with a brown sleeveless turtleneck top. She accessorized with a minimal choker and took a dupatta and the whole look gave a very modern Indo-fushion touch to her styling.
She further shared, “ For me it is always about trying to blend two different styles. Shararas have plenty of ways in which it can be styled, be it you want it to be styled in a complete ethnic way or western. In my case I wanted to create an Indo-fusion look. I love turtlenecks, and the overall look turned out to look quite a good fusion of both styles."

She tried to create another Indian meets western look.
